SECO Netherlands | Risk Control Lock Eefde
Now that the expansion of the Eefde Lock is almost complete and the new lock has been commissioned, it's time to renovate the existing lock.
In the weekend of 13 and 14 June 2020 the traverses and lifting gates of the upper and lower heads were dismantled on behalf of Rijkswaterstaat. These parts will be transported to Hollandia for renovation and will be reassembled in the autumn, fully refurbished and coated.
Within the framework of Risk Control, the lifting and dismantling activities were assessed and monitored by Seconed. The impressive photos give an impression of the complexity of these risky activities.
But everything went well and the work was completed well within the foreseen time frame. Sunday around 10.00 the last lifting door was placed on the pontoon.
