The construction of new cable-stayed road bridge over the Rio Wele in Oyala is part of the development of the future city.
The structures consist of a prestressed concrete deck, supported by 2 side layers of 2 × 8 stay cables, hanging on 4 pylons in total. The lower part of the pylons is made of reinforced concrete while the upper part, on which the guy ropes are anchored, is metallic.
The section of the deck is made up of two longitudinal beams in prestressed concrete, connected to each other by spacers, also in prestressed concrete.
The bridge deck have a length of 152 m and a width of 23.6 m for a height of 1.55 m. The central span is 81 m.
Access to the site being made difficult by the presence of the Rio Wele, the deck is built with the help of mobile crews, by successive cantilevers from the pylons.
